Not only is the venue announcing this year's pantomime as the enchanting Sleeping Beauty, but it's also making a record-breaking attempt in connection with the show.
The story of Sleeping Beauty follows a young Princess unknowingly cursed by an evil witch. We watch her grow into a beautiful young woman, fall in love and then fall victim to the curse (although we all know it ends happily ever after!).
A significant part of the story features the spinning wheel and it is this that leads us to the beginning of a thrilling and very challenging new project...
With the help of the Cornish community, HfC is planning to attempt to break the record for the world's longest knitted scarf - a record currently held by the Welsh.
The scarf will be knitted in sections and then joined together. People from around Cornwall will be invited to join in by knitting sections. With 34 miles of knitting ahead, HfC will need lots of knitters - Wales had 2,000, but undoubtedly the people of Cornwall will do even better!
The Hall is hoping to secure sponsorship for the project and all money collected will go to the Hall's Loved to Bits scheme which raises vital funds for the upkeep of the theatre building.
After displaying the scarf, HfC hopes to donate it to a UK charity.
