Tucked away in Truro's Nalder's Court lies Opium, a French style boutique offering a unique collection of clothing, gifts and accessories exclusive to Cornwall.

Opium was established in the spring of 2006 when Poppy Roberts wanted to introduce a beautifully feminine collection of clothes to Truro unlike anything else found on the high street, with a focus on style and quality. Buying trips to Paris with Mum, Bridget, mean they are able to source an entirely exclusive collection of clothing to Cornwall and with the two generations buying, the collections have an appeal to all ages and the styles are the type that won't go out of fashion at the end of the season. Their insistence on only buying one of each size in each style ensures there is little chance of bumping into anyone wearing the same outfit. All this has earned the boutique a real following, with customers coming far and wide to visit Opium, looking for something a little bit different!

The boutique has a distinctively French feel to it with Parisian Café music played whilst you browse the fascinating collections all displayed on charming vintage furniture, from delicate French summer dresses to chunky Swedish knitwear, fabulously flattering denim to pretty lace underwear all sitting alongside beautifully fragranced toiletries and delightful embroidered hankies . It's a real treat and worth the visit!

Throughout the year Opium holds customer events, including Christmas drinks parties, invitations to the launch of new collections and any excuse that Poppy can find to hold a promotion that includes the temptation delicious cupcakes!
