The Old Bakery Studios is one of the most exciting artistic developments to take place in the region. The building, which occupies a prominent waterside location, right in the centre of Truro, is being transformed into an arts centre, providing an exhibition space, a dedicated classroom and over 40 artists studios, which are rented by painters, sculptors, printmakers and ceramicists, as well as photographers, florists, architects, complementary therapists, dance and fitness instructors. It looks set to become a major influence in the South West arts scene.

The inspiring and creative community at The Old Bakery Studios regularly hold events to promote their work.  The Old Bakery Studios participates in ‘Open Studios' week, which attracts hundreds of people.

 

Several of the studio occupants fill their order books as a result of Open Studios. Other events aimed at the Wedding Fayre and Christmas markets are planned for the future, as well as workshops and classes across a wide variety of subjects. There are plans afoot for a coffee shop/bistro and gallery on the premises too, making The Old Bakery a real ‘one stop shop' for anyone interested in art.
