The Cornish Food Box has opened its historic back room (a former coffin store, dance school, boxing club and a socialist meeting house in the 1930s - you can still see the socialist slogans painted on the beams in the cafe) to create The Caff.


Great coffee, teas, soups and sandwiches (using Cornish produce), pasties, cakes and treats. Pass the time of day on a straw bale whilst enjoying something delicious to eat and drink.

There are several wonderful things about The Caff

 

- it's in one of Truro's most historic buildings

 

- the soups and sandwiches are all made using the wonderful Cornish ingredients the Cornish Food Box sells - any vegetables that look a bit mis-shapen or sad will get made into delicious soups and sold by the cafe.

 

- it is a very serene enviroment - and totally unpretentious. We haven't spent lots of money on making it a fancy cafe - trestle tables and hay bales to sit on, mismatched china, vintage enamel teapots, free wifi and the daily newspapers make it a very lovely environment to come and relax; and somewhere you can bring your kids or dogs and won't need to worry about being on best behavior!

 

- We use the very wonderful Origin coffee, Tregothan teas with Trewithen milk ensuring a very delicious and high quality drink.

 

- It has an dedicated space for children to play.  There is a regular 'Parent and baby drop in group' on Tuesdays at midday.
