Last year's event sold out ahead of the big day with 400 community spirited individuals and teams taking part. More than £13,000 was raised for ROC.
For 2016, our entry limit has been raised to 500 people. People of all abilities can run, jog or walk The ROC 5K. The minimum age is 11.
The major part of the route takes in Truro's beautiful riverside and Boscawen Park. However, to make The ROC 5K a truly memorable community event, we are indebted to our 30 corporate partners. These include our major sponsors
Francis Clark LLP, Great Western Railways, Cornish Mutual and
Truro & Penwith College. Please do look at our Partnerships page to see what all our partners are contributing.
BBC Radio Cornwall's Daphne Skinnard and John Harvey from the Samphire Club will once again be our joint event MCs on the big day and ensure a great, fun atmosphere. We're very much hoping that Skinner's Betty Stogs will also add her own touch of glamour to the proceedings!
Refreshments (Cornish pasty, water, beer, apple juice) will be provided on the quay at the finish and prior to prize giving. After prize giving everyone is invited to the Old Ale House where Skinners is offering 10% off most bar sales. In this way, we hope to bring proceedings to a convivial conclusion.
So please get your trainers ready! By entering the event, you will be supporting 150 local people with learning disabilities who are members of ROC Welcome. To enter click here.
Notes:
1 The ROC 5K is licensed under RunBritain but it is not a measured distance.
2 Participants will be invited to check in from 5.30pm on the day for a prompt 6.30pm start. These times are to be confirmed. Everyone taking part must register in advance here.
