Christmas in Truro is a truly unique and enjoyable experience. This vibrant city really comes alive during the festive season with a wonderful mix of events and Christmas shopping. Christmas in Truro 2013 was a truly fantastic experience - we are looking forward to December 2014!
Shops throughout the city open until 9pm every Wednesday for the last late night shopping, and the streets will be filled with festive market stalls, entertainers, brass bands and carol singers, all rounded off with the festive smell of mulled wine and hot chestnuts! Truro's cafes, bars and restaurants also open their doors to hungry shoppers and festive merry makers alike, with many offering special deals on their delicious food and drink menus.

For many, the sound of a traditional cathedral choir singing carols is the very essence of Christmas. The boys and men of Truro Cathedral Choir sing to thousands of people at various packed events in December, but this year, for the first time, they will be squeezing in an extra Christmas concert in St Mawes Methodist Chapel.

Nine Lessons and Carols Service to be filmed for release as DVD
The ‘Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’ services on 23rd and 24th December at 7pm are a traditional part of Christmas celebrations for many people in Cornwall, as they have been since they were devised by the first Bishop of Truro in 1880. Truro Cathedral is excited to announce that this year’s Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on 23rd December will be filmed for release on DVD in 2015.
