Enjoy Truro

The 'City of Lights' procession and Christmas lights switch-on mark the start of our Christmas festivities on Wednesday 20 November, followed by late night shopping every Wednesday evening from 27 November 2013 to 18 December 2013.

Shops throughout the city will open until 9pm for late night shopping and the streets will be filled with festive market stalls, entertainers, brass bands and carol singers, all rounded off with the festive smell of mulled wine and hot chestnuts!

Truro's cafes, bars and restaurants will be opening their doors to hungry shoppers and festive merry makers alike, with many offering special deals on their delicious food and drink menus.

The Christmas Truro pocket guide is printed every year to keep you informed of everything you need to know about Christmas in Truro. It includes an event calendar for the whole of December, a street by street shopping directory and comprehensive information on travelling to Truro. Plan ahead this Christmas, combine your shopping trips with carol singing at the Cathedral followed by mince pies and mulled wine and the famous festive street markets.

Don't miss the Real Reindeer and Father Christmas  when they  visit Truro on Wednesday the 27 November, 6pm, Victoria Square.  This event is being kindly provided by Malletts Home Hardware.


The 'Truro Ice Rink' will open for the second year running from 20 November until 5 January.  A wonderful, fun activity to do with friends and family.

Road closures will be in place in the city centre from 3pm on the afternoons of Wednesday late night shopping during December.

This will mean that the PICK UP and DROP OFF points for Truro Park & Ride will move to Calenick Street (rather than stopping at River Street and Victoria Square) from 3pm onwards for these evenings. Service times remain unchanged by this move.
