Accord Mediation

It offers the services of 18 independent fully accredited professionals, the majority of whom work as practising solicitors.

Mediation is a voluntary, ‘without prejudice' process which involves the parties sitting down with a mediator to discuss the issues in order to move towards a settlement. A mediator is impartial; he or she cannot give advice on a best position basis and does not have the power to make a decision or an award, but acts as a facilitator assisting the parties in negotiating a mutually acceptable solution. The parties remain in control of making decisions throughout the process.

Family mediation:

* Divorce and separation
* Co-habitation
* Civil partnerships
* Property and finance
* Children's residence
* Children's contact
* Pre-nuptial agreements

Commercial Mediation:

* Inheritance
* Employment
* Partnership disputes
* Contracts
* Land disputes
* Clinical negligence
